Customer Review: Not the best diabetes advice ever
This book is great if you want to become a vegan and try to control diabetes through not eating anything much. It advocates the advice that I first had when diagnosed, that is to follow a diet based on grains, pulses and complex carbs supplemented by fruit and veg. It also advocates taking vast quantities of supplements to top up missing viatamins and minerals. I’m not too sure though how a book that preaches healthy lifestyle for diabetics can justify the inclusion of sugar and glucose syrup in the ‘healthy’ recipes section though! Good concept, less convincing in it’s content though.
Customer Review: A Vegan Diet in Disguise
This is basically a stringent vegan diet where all animal products are forbidden (no milk in that cup of tea!). It is very difficult diet to follow if one wants to lead a normal life and eat out occasionally. I tried it for a week and put 3 lbs.on although my blood sugars reduced slightly as promised. Personally I find Doctor Bernstein’s Diabetic Diet much easier to follow.

Customer Review: Disappointing
I was looking forward to getting this book as I was desperate for some new imput and inspiration on how to live with my thyroid condition (I've been at both ends of the spectrum of thyroid problems). The book is just a rehash of the information available on Mary Shomon's website. I couldn't find anything new. My own experience has led me to believe that keeping things simple is the best way to treat an underactive thyroid. A healthy, balanced diet and regular exersize is the best way to ensure thyroxine uptake and therefore ensure a more balanced thyroid.
Customer Review: eye opener
im really pleased with this book, ive had thyroid trouble for over 3 years and this book has opened my eyes to the fact i’m not suffering alone,my thyroid has caused me loads of problem’s especially weight gain and it as inspired me to go and ask my doctor question that ive never been told the answer’s too

Customer Review: The Low Down On Low Carb
This book covers a lot of ground that other books have already covered, and makes a persuasive case for low carb dieting. But there are two areas where it sheds new insight that isn’t available elsewhere, as far as I know. Lutz himself has been treating a number of ailments with low carb diets for forty years or so, and has a vast reservoir of experience and data, much of which is shared here. Furthermore, the book is candid about the fact that low carb dieting is not for everyone. Those over 45 and/or female may not benefit so much from the diet. The arguments for low carb dieting are well made and realistically put. It’s the best book on low carb I’ve read.
Customer Review: A useful introduction for the neophyte.
To anyone approaching this subject for the first occasion then undoubtedly this book will prove to be a useful primer, but, to those who have an inkling of the subject they may find, as I did, that it is disappointingly superficial. The strength of the argument supporting the high fat/protein diet is mostly anecdotal and not particularly convincing.

Customer Review: Bearable!
Thought I’d try this two week eating regime to find out if I could lose a bit of weight on it. The food was actually bearable, didn’t find myself craving anything sweet at all and I did actally start to feel better within myself. No bloating, skin looking and feeling better etc. However, by the time I got the the evening meal on one of the nights which consisted of chicken, lettuce and tomatoes only that was the final straw! I lasted a week on it, lost 9lbs in weight (which I duly put most of back on over the following week)- Surely no-one could possibly stick to this their whole life - oh yes there is a follow up diet routine for life!!! Anyway, okay for a quick fix if you need to get into that little black number a week or two later. Thankfully I like milk and other dairy products too much to give them up!
Customer Review: A Diet that really does work!!!
I bought this book after reading other people’s reviews, thinking what the hey?? May as well give it a go!! I’ve tried countless diets and i can safely say that this one definately works!! Over the two week plan i lost 1 stone! As long as you follow it and don’t deviate the weight will definately come off. The diet is well explained and easy to follow. I’ve found that it easily fits into my work day. Definately money well spent. Recommended!

I love this tape as well, I do this on a regular basis as well. Easy to follow and a good workout. Would be good pretty much anyone.

Customer Review: LOVE it!!!
This is, by far, my favorite workout DVD. It is fun and Chris Freytag makes it easy to follow. The cardio workout provides a good sweat and a great workout. The body shaping workout is tough but doable. I love the way these workouts made me feel and the sense of accomplishment keeping up and sticking with it really feels. This is a great DVD for all levels of fitness.

Hi-Phat Diet [CASSETTE]

Dr. Atkins’ Quick and Easy New Diet Cookbook
Diet food can be better, richer, and more sumptuous than most everyday foods”, says Dr Robert Atkins, author of the massive best-seller, Dr Atkins’ New Diet Revolution. Carbohydrates, in his opinion, are the root of metabolic evil and the source of hyperinsulinemia, a condition that makes it next to impossible to lose weight. Billed as a companion to the New Diet Revolution, this collection of recipes focuses on ultralow-carbohydrate dishes. His anticarb stance leads to some unconventional dietary advice: “Remember that, as a rule, the lower the fat content of a milk product, the higher its carbohydrate grams. Use cream, not skim milk; use sour cream, not yogurt.”

While these recipes are certainly quick and easy to prepare and feature easy-to-find ingredients, some are very high in fat (Zabaglione, Crab and Avocado Salad, Ham and Cheese Sandwiches, Baked Eggs in Bacon Rings). While it may be true that fat is flavour and is necessary to some extent to keeping blood sugar on an even keel, these recipes won’t be helpful for those who are watching their cholesterol or are on similarly restricted diets.

Customer Review: Exactly what it says on the tin..
This book has had some slating in some reviews, but it is now one of my most used cook books. I’ve been an avid atkins follower for 4 months now and bought this as I was getting tired of steak and salad but didn’t want to spend hours preparing meals. There are some great recipes in this book, and they are all quick and dead easy to make. Some of the weight conversions can be baffling, but if you go to www.atkins.com, they have a US to UK weight conversion so you can work it all out. Each recipe also breaks down your carb count so you can keep an eye on what you are eating. It doesn’t have the most extensive variety of recipes in the book, but with this one, its quality more than quality. Definitely worth a go if you plan to stick with the Atkins (or other low carb diets)
Customer Review: It works and you’ll feel good
Atkins gets a lot of bad press, but when all is said and done his diet really works, and it works really fast. Atkins explains why he thinks it works, and his theory sounds plausable. But who cares, it works. I suffered from a lot of stress, or hypertension before this diet. That has all gone, I no longer get sugar cravings, (i.e. shivering for no reason), mood swings, sudden hunger or faintness. And I got all this when I was not on a diet. Now that I am doing Atkins (not all that strictly), I feel fantastic. Do not believe the bad press this book gets. This guy gets screwed because of his induction phase. But even he admits that induction is not healthy for long term, and he does not recommend this as a lifetime change, just a short kick start to a fat burning mechamnism. I almost forgot to mention, I did get this book to lose weight, and I did. Its just that the other benefits I got seem to far outweigh the actual weight loss. Don’t be tempted to get info on Atkins from the Internet, there is enough rubbish on this guy out there. Read from the source. Get this book if you want to diet, get this book if you do not feel 100% and you suspect diet (I mean an eating plan) could help.

Taylor 7328 Electronic Lithium Scale

Taylor 7328 Electronic Lithium Scale
Customer Review: Yes, it is cheap..
Argh! Over the past hour my weight has varied by up to 4 pounds. The only time it has shown a consistent measure is when I grabbed a 5 pound handweight and stepped back on the scale — and so it should have measured a 5 pound increase, but the measurement didn’t change at all! Very frustrating as I’m serious about trying to lose weight. I don’t want false readings to throw me off track.

Also, this thing is the definition of cheap flimsy plastic. Blech. I’m returning this right away to Amazon (FYI it is a very easy process if you find that you need to do the same).

Customer Review: Very good choice
Read the reviews and decided to buy. Very nice item. Foot placement is clearly marked. Used by tall, short, slim and round. No tipping or instability.

Battery type nice and reliable. Measures not only the lbs, but ounces. To be able to see the lbs go, ounce by ounce seems to be a real, motivating incentive for some of us. A new feature for me and I really like it. Gives your day a perky start to know your past days efforts were reward by small, but measurable, consistent weight loss.

Even if this is not a feature you care about, this scale is easy to read and tested very accurate against calibrated doctor scales. You won’t regret your purchase.

Customer Review: Full of information to make a wise choice
The first book I read that explains the health benefits of veganism without falling into the moralistic view. Packed with all you need if you are to make an informed choice, supported by real data, and be able to explain to others why you eat what you eat.
Customer Review: Packed with info but not all that user-friendly
There’s no doubt that this book is absolutely packed with information about the nutritional benefits of a vegan diet. If you enjoy looking at studies and want to really delve into all the scientific data behind vegan nutrition, then this is the book for you. However, if like me, you simply want a practical, user-friendly guide that answers the question ‘What should I eat on a daily basis to be healthy as a vegan?’, then you might find this a frustrating read. The information is all there, but it’s buried in facts and figures, and isn’t something you could refer back to easily. By far the best book I’ve found that lays out vegan nutrition in an accessible, easy-to-understand way is a slim little volume called Nutrition in a Nutshell, available from The Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation for under a pound. I refer to it daily, and have found it an invaluable guide.

Customer Review: It worked for me, although it took a while.
I started this diet a few months before I was about to get married. At first it seemed pretty slow. I wasn’t really loosing weight. But I stuck at it and I the few pounds I was trying to shed. I also noticed that the IBS that I’ve suffered from for years cleared up and I felt great with loads of energy. Unfortunately though this didn’t last and I developed gastritis. I’m not entirely sure whether this was anything to do with the diet but now I’m trying to get rid of it I’m on a low fat diet with less protein. The only real problem with the book is the recipes. There really isn’t anything very inspiring or tasty in there.
Customer Review: EATING IN A SET WAY - NEEDS ORGANISATION
I FOUND IT QUITE HARD TO GET USED TO THE EATING PATTERN. IT IS NOT A STRAIGHT FORWARD DIET SAYING DO NOT EAT THIS AND THIS. YOU HAVE TO EAT EXACT AMOUNTS OF PROTEIN, CARBS AND FAT AT EACH MEAL, AND NOT HAVE LARGE TIME LAPSES BETWEEN MEALS. IF YOU SKIP MEALS OR LIKE CONVENIENCE FOOD THIS IS NOT THE DIET FOR YOU. IF YOU HAVE TIME TO PLAN YOUR MEALS IT IS A VERY HEALTHY DIET.

Doctor’s Carbrite Diet - Chocolate Chip Brownie Mix, Sugar Free 11 Oz

Doctor’s Carbrite Diet - Chocolate Chip Brownie Mix, Sugar Free 11 Oz
This is the best tasting sugar free brownie mix we have found!

Customer Review: These brownies are great
I bought this mix for my husband, a diabetic with a sweet tooth. He really has enjoyed having a fudgy, chocolate brownie to eat. For special occasions, I make him these brownies and he tops one with no-sugar-added ice cream and a great sugar-free chocolate topping.

Customer Review: Tasty but Gassy!
The taste alone deserve all the accolades I found from fellow reviewers before I bought this product (4 Boxes). There were only two reviews, one for 5 stars and the other for 4 stars. Not one mentioned the after effects this product causes in the human body. Who said gas is expensive? With this product is free and long lasting! The first time we did two boxes, which is not much in quantity, and the whole family had a go at it. I bought it for selfish reasons, the fact I am not supposed to consume sugars and lots of Carbs, but more importantly because the two reviews sold me! Who else can I trust these days when everyone claims they are the best but the actual consumers, the everyday people of this great land of ours? Yes, I am that naive, I fully trust the opinions of the majority. In this case they were only 2 reviews and I should have been more cautious. The taste great but after eating this product the body undergoes severe swings, all adorned by long lasting gas and in the end by several visits to the “throne”. I have always been blessed with a reliable stomach but when I eat something that is not quite right I suffer like everyone else. Another member of my family suffers from a very delicate stomach and almost no will power when it comes to treats like these. There must be some kind of ingredient that promotes this reaction and my question is: Is it safe to suffer the after effects for the taste of the moment you eat it? In my opinion, no, even though I know that some ingredient that makes it sugar free might be the culprit and perhaps the body will adapt and in time become more adept at accepting this side effect, but I do not want my body to participate in the adaptation process. So why was this not mentioned at all? That, in a nutshell, is the question. Are we being difficult and antagonistic? From where I stand (or should I say, sit?) I do not think so. 2 Stars for Doctor’s Carbrite Extra Rich & Fudgy Brownies and the 2 stars for the initial great taste, at least that part is true and tried!

Get Well with the Hay Diet

Customer Review: More than a diet!
This book is less about losing weight, and more about gaining health. If you are suffering from various non-specific symptoms which don’t seem to make sense, or indeed if you are just looking to feel energetic and healthy again, this book may well be extremely helpful. It’s author, (a trained nurse), recovered from a ‘mystery’ illness using the Hay Diet. She went on to write the book to help others restore their own health and vitality through tackling diet, eating habits and environmental issues. The book looks at some of the more common problems such as Candida, Allergies, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Low Blood Sugar problems and toxicity from mercury fillings, helpfully listing ‘classic’ symptoms (which can be as varied as anxiety, dizziness, muscle cramps, ringing in the ears) of each condition, and explaining how some may overlap with others. More importantly she looks at where to begin tackling these problems. The information given on the Hay Diet itself is limited, but sufficient to get a grasp on the principles. Basic food items are listed in tables indicating how they should be combined together, but if you want very detailed listings and menu ideas you would need to buy a different book. Overall a helpful book if you feel you have health issues you want to tackle, but perhaps less detailed than others if you want to concentrate primarily on weight loss.

Customer Review: This book changed my life
I’m 34 years old 5′ 7″ and when i started following the advise in this book i weighed 16 stone and a waist of 41 inches. When i was 18 i was 10 stone 7 lbs, had a 28 waist and was toned and muscly. From 15 years of lack of exercise and poor food crisps, biscuits, carbonated soft drinks (soda, pop or ginger depending on where you live), curries etc my body was a mess. I wheezed when walking up more than 4 flights of stairs. In short i’m probably much the same as a lot of you reading this review. I knew about sensible eating but was too lazy/uneducated to implement it. I’d lost about 20 pounds on the Atkins diet previously but piled it back on because i couldn’t stick to it’s almost “meat only” ethos. My main problem is i don’t like cooking so the takeaway was an easy option. So the foods i CRAVED kept calling to me I read this book and discovered a great secret - by purchasing the pre-made salad packets in supermarkets and canned fish (which i like) i could make a tasty nutricious meal in 5 minutes. Less time than you’d wait for your chinese to be cooked. I substitute the fish for chicken, turkey etc as the mood takes me and often have a small portion of meat with veg etc. Where this book differs is showing you where we ALL go wrong in Britain - we have a plate made up half of meat a third with potatoes/pasta/rice and a token portion of veg. This ethos is half a plate of veg/salad a qtr of meat and a qtr of potatoes. THAT is the difference. I’ve changed my eating habits because i am now EDUCATED about how much damage high GI foods cause. I now know why the old comment “why is it i’m hungry an hour after eating a chinese meal” is true. In the past 4 months i have lost two and a half stone and 4 inches off my waist. My 38 inch jeans are falling off me and i fit comfortably into 36 inch jeans. The other day i ate a chinese curry and couldn’t finsih half of it - it was disgusting. The same can be said for chocolate and i don’t even take a crisp if it’s offered to me. THAT IS THE KEY - on previous diets i’ve CRAVED the curries, biscuits, crisps and YOU have too. Now i don’t even want to touch them. Give it a try - the book is indepth but easy to follow with meal plans and ideas. Change your life - i have because by the time i go on holiday in August i should be 11 stone with a 32 inch waist. Something i’ve been dreaming of for years.
Customer Review: Eating low GI foods makes a lot of sense.
I have never been a dieter having dismissed them all because they were based on one stupid fad after another and long term results are typically like a yo-yo with the weight loss/gain effect. I also like my food too much. Approaching middle age, slowly developing a “bear belly” and “Man boobs” (attractive image that!) I wanted to try and adopt a healthier lifestyle and eating habits. I had read that the GI diet (and also the GL variations) were broadly supported by the government healthy eating guidelines and most professionally qualified nutritionalists were praising it as the right way to change your eating habits. Encouraged by other reviews, I brought this book. What did I learn from the book. 1) The link between Sugar/Insulin and Fat creation/energy storage and appetite. 2) What my BMI should be and how to caluclate my target weight. (I wasn’t classed as obese yet but I wasn’t in the recommended range either) 3) Lots of encouraging letters from people who had tried this diet and been succesfull but had also had positive side effects on other medical problems. 4) Which foods are impacted by this and how to choose low Gi alternatives to some High Gi foods. A simple traffic light system was used to explein this concept. THIS IS THE KEY. Since starting the healthy eating I have lost around 1 lb a week. Some weeks it was flat and others it was as much as 2 lb. Now here is the good bit: I didn’t follow the recipies so I have no idea if they are any good. I didn’t worry too much about portion sizes either. I still have the ocassional cake or sweet without being silly about it. Realistically 50% of the book was wasted on me. All I did was understand the GI content of what I was eating and chose accordingly. Two weeks ago I bought a new suit. I had to. This damn book is going to cost me a fortune in new clothes but I don’t mind so much as I don’t expect to put the weight back on again like a yo-yo diet. I see no reason to change back to my old eating habits and I also feel generally healthier. A truly life changing experience and one I definately recommend to the readers of this review. Good luck

Customer Review: Disappointing
Having bought Helen Foster’s previous GI book “Easy GI Diet” I was looking forward to similar good advice and additional recipes. However, despite some useful ideas and recipes, the eating plan section feels rushed and lazily written, particularly the latter part. Unlike the previous book where generally the recipes served one person, all the recipes in this one serve 4 so it is a bit fiddly trying to work out how to cook for one. Also on some occasions no quantities are given eg “mix 2oz of salmon with lentils and mashed potatoes” If you haven’t tried the GI way of eating before I would recommend you stick with Helen Foster’s earlier publication and give this one a miss.

The advice section is clear and useful and there are plenty of recipes to choose from. However I was disappointed with this book which is printed on flimsy paper with no illustrations - not what I expected considering the high cost of the book. I found nothing to inspire me to try the recipes. I much prefer the Low GI Diet Cookbook by Dr Jennie Brand-Miller - the recipes seem more appealing somehow - probably down to the photography and I couldn’t wait to try them. All in all not really worth the long wait or the cost. Better to buy a couple of cheaper Low GI cook books by different authors for variety.

Customer Review: UNBELEIVABLE!!
This diet is truly unbelievable, I’m on my 4th day and I’ve lost 5lbs!!! The skirt I wore at the weekend is actually hanging off my waist. I don’t know how this diet works but to anyone out there who is as miserable as I was over carrying around extra weight in the hot weather - YOU MUST TRY THIS! Not only will you be amazed at the results, the increase in energy and good spirits I’ve also found has been an extra bonus. Looking and good and feeling great, who could ask for more? I haven’t felt hungry and depsite craving a packet of crisps on the second day, this diet has been easy so far. The results happen so quickly - you won’t want to cheat. TRY IT!
Customer Review: I wouldn’t have believed it…..
This is the first reducing diet that I have followed properly, on the recommendation of a friend who told me I would lose 7lbs in one week. I only had 10lbs or so to lose and had made sporadic dieting attempts before to no avail and was about to go on holiday so gave it a shot as a last ditch attempt to improve my appearance. It worked! I lost weight (7lbs) quickly in the first week and although this slowed down in the second week (3lbs) I was delighted, if somewhat mystified, by my success! This diet really does work if you follow it to the letter and don’t cheat - it was unbelievable every day when I stood on the scales - without fail I weighed a pound less each day in the first week. I have now also done the diet a second time to lose a few extra pounds that have crept back (unfortunately I do love good food and wine!) and it has been as successful as the first time. Try it! You’ll be amazed at the results. And I think it’s a much healthier diet than the Atkins one, especially if you’re worried about your cholesterol level.

The GI Diet: The Easy, Healthy Way to Permanent Weight Loss
Amazon.co.uk Review It’s rather a relief to discover that The GI Diet is not, after all, an in-depth investigation into the secrets of the US Army’s mess halls and field rations. This GI stands for Glycemic Index, the latest thing in weight-loss thinking. Encouragingly based on his own efforts to lose weight, the introduction explains how Rick Gallop worked his way through diet after diet. Single-food diets (grapefruit, cabbage) he rejected as unsustainable; high-protein/low-carb ones unreliable and potentially dangerous (sorry, Dr Atkins). None of them worked in the long run. Finally he stumbled across the theories of nutritionist Dr David Jenkins, and the GI Diet, the new Only Diet That Works, was born. Essentially, the Glycemic Index measures how quickly carbohydrates are digested and release their sugars into the bloodstream. Foods with a high GI rating release glucose rapidly, their energy is rapidly burned up and hunger quickly returns. The Chinese meal syndrome, where you’re hungry half an hour later, is the perfect illustration of this. Low-rated slow-release foods, by contrast, provide long-term energy and tend to require the body to do more work to convert it. Oats, beans, barley and similar foods high in soluble fibre represent the ideal forms of low-GI food. Fats are likewise differentiated into the familiar saturated (bad), unsaturated (good) and polyunsaturated (best). Naturally, there is more to it than this rather obvious-sounding core precept. Rick Gallop has constructed an entire dietary plan around it, with a introductory weight-loss period followed by a less severe maintenance diet (in this, rather like the Atkins Diet but much less onerous and restrictive). There are long lists of foodstuffs graded by GI rating, a selection of (rather basic) recipes and suggestions for exercise regimes–the latter including some interesting Pilates-like strengthening routines–so the whole thing becomes more

Customer Review: Great Ingredients, Simple Preparation, Tips for Saving Time, and Tasty Experiences for Losing Weight and Being Healthier
Think of this book as Rachael Ray meets the South Beach Diet. Every dish is simple to prepare and healthy. If you know of more tasty, easy-to-prepare dishes that are healthy and support a lower weight, you’ll eat better. My suggestion for you is that you acquire all the South Beach Diet cookbooks you can. The Taste of Summer Cookbook will be one that you’ll cherish because the recipes take great advantage of the fresh foods available at low cost during the summer. My experience with the South Beach Diet has been just amazing. Follow the diet, and the excess weight effortlessly disappears. Add quantities of foods unapproved on the diet, and the weight piles on like magic. This book came along at just the right time for me. I was ready for some taste variations from what I normally eat to lost weight on the South Beach Diet. I feel very motivated to try these dishes and to drop the foods that I shouldn’t be eating! I thought the weakest part of the book came in the breakfasts. But that limitation is more than made up for in the great choices of soups, sandwiches, and salads for the rest of the day. There are separate sections for seafood, poultry, meat dishes, and vegetarians so you can match your protein sources to your taste and health preferences. If you are like me, you’ll be thrilled to see the many suggestions on page 11 to add even more flavor. Each recipe tells you how long it takes to prepare, marinate, cook, and rest before serving. You also find out which stage of the diet the recipe fits. You’ll also learn how many people are served. Customer Review: Luke- Thankyou. I am enlightened!
Having read other books on gf/cf diets and so far being too overwhelmed with the enormity task to know quite where to begin, this book came as a huge relief-there really is life (and edible food)during and beyond implementation day. As Luke says, he is only twelve years old, but such a wise twelve year old to have written this very detailed, yet humourous book in a painting-by-numbers, beginners sort of way! I can see the big picture now and plan that beginning with a much clearer idea of how and more importantly why.
Customer Review: Unscientific
This book is a combination of interesting insights into autism and ADHD along with unscientific theories about various diets to “cure” autism. The science is sadly lacking in this book. To give one example: Luke says that his brothers react “immediately” after eating foods containing monosodium glutamate, and yet he gives various recipes containing tomatoes (which contain natural glutamate). Also, the book doesn’t have an index, making it difficult to use as a reference tool.

Customer Review: Fatastico!!!
I have tried quite a few home exercise DVD’s and Joanna Hall is definitely the best- she is extremely knowledgeable and has a soothing voice- she explains everything in details so the moves are easy to pick up and she helps you focus on really working deeply into each exercise. I have lost nearly 3 inches in 5 weeks. The cardio calorie burn section is hard work but you never feel like you are damaging yourself… NAtalie Cassidy’s then and now looks good on the outside as you can visibly see how much weight Natalie has lost but the moves are hard to follow and hurt! Also Joanna explains that when you have done a cardio blast, you need to do warm down and slowly bring your heart rate down as it is very bad to go from intense heart rate to nothing and what I noticed about Natalie’s DVd is that one minute you are jumping around and then you just stop so you can feel your heart bursting…not good!! Yay for Joanna, you are my fitness guru!!!!
Customer Review: Brilliant! The New Jane Fonda
This workout DVD is brilliant. I have done a couple of the workouts everyday (no more than 45 minutes maximum) everyday and in conjunction with a healthy diet have dropped a dress size in just 5 weeks! Very impressed. The best thing is that Joanna focuses on lengthening your body as you tone, so you end up being slim and slinky instead of short and stocky. If you liked Jane Fonda, you’ll love Joanna Hall. Many of the workouts are very reminiscent of Jane Fonda’s earlier workouts. A*****

Customer Review: The Shaker…
I like this for the most part. It leaks a little when you shake it and a little hard to open and close, but it does the job. I’m pretty easy to please.

Customer Review: Great item
Cheap and as advertised. Use for homemade salad dressing - can shake w/no mess. under cap gets a little messy, but that never drips out. great buy.

Rosemary Conley’s Complete Hip and Thigh Diet

Customer Review: FANTASTIC diet, shame about the presentation
There is no doubt that this diet works - it's delicious, extremely easy and makes complete sense. None of this working out what's high or low in GI, or worryign about mixing different types of foods, or any of the usual diet rubbish! It's simple, easy, yummy, and I've lost loads of weight. My (very overweight) brother's doctor recommended it as the only diet she knew that really worked! So undoubtedly worth buying. BUT I wish they'd reprint and reorganise the useful bits in this book. The first few chapters are filled with quotes from Mrs E of Herts - “I lost lots of weight - thanks Rosemary” which is tedious. But most annoying is the lack of index. The recipes are fabulous once you've found them, but finding your way around the book is seriously difficult. I've ended up putting PostIt notes to index the various sections. It's well worth buying anyway and worth putting up with the annoyance, but be warned that the book is far harder to get to grips with than the diet itself!
Customer Review: when is a diet not a diet
when you follow the Rosemary Conley Hip and Thigh Diet. I lost weight when this book came out and over the last year slowly been putting it back on. I joined weight watchers without much success so now I am embarking on this diet again. It is really better the devil you know. I know it works, and I know I will lose weight. If you buy this book you will not be disappointed.

The New High Protein Diet Cookbook: Fast, Delicious Recipes for Any High-protein or Low-carb Lifestyle

Customer Review: Not For Everyone
Beware. Not everyone on a low carb diet will find these recipes particularly low carb. There are many that include onions and flour (both have a very high GI). But in it’s favour there are no Americanisms in sight, and at least the dishes taste wonderful!
Customer Review: vegetarians leave now!!
I have been following the South Beach diet with some success but I was getting bored of the very limited vegetarian suggestions so decided to try a low carb cook book. Well when this one arrived I was disapointed - the vegetarian section is non existant, well unless you have no more imagination than to cook vegetables!! If you are a meat eater then this book will be fine (but I am sure most meat eaters find it easy to eat low carb!) but if you are vegetarian then keep searching.

Customer Review: Brilliant and easy to follow.
This has got to be one of the best diet books I have ever read. It is easy to follow both in the reading sense and in the dieting sense. It isn’t so much a diet as in you have to cut things out, but rather a healthy eating plan. I have been following it for nearly a week now and not only have I lost weight I feel so good within myself as well. This book also gives guidance to those who wish to gain weight or just lead a more healthy lifestyle. Oh and by the way the recipes are DELICIOUS.

Customer Review: Fantastic Fodder!
A fantastic book! Full of ideas for meals whether you’re vegetarian or not. Some of my favourite dishes are in here. I’ve had mine so long its fallen apart and I’ve had to get another!
Customer Review: An essential book for new vegetarians
I first came across this book almost ten years ago and for a (then) newbie vegetarian, it was an absolute godsend. The recipes are in decent portions as opposed to other vegetarian cookbooks and are not too complicated to make. The book is also very reasonably priced too.

Customer Review: Fat fraud diet more like
Having seen Winner on TV recently I was rather shocked to see the results of his weight loss. I thought the poor sod had cancer or something. Then I saw he had a book out, the Fat Pig Diet, well I thought if he can lose 3 stone by eating less there must be something in it. What he failed to inform everyone was that he lost the 3 stone by being laid low with some mysterious illness that kills 95% of the people that get it. Well thats allright then, I’ll just have to poison myself with oysters and hope I don’t die in the process. What a complete fraud. He fluctuates up and down the scales for 7 months adding and shedding about a stone over this period, which just about anyone can do with a bit of attention to what you eat. The only thing that keeps you reading is the little anecdotes he slips in as he name drops unashamedly and spends money like a drunken sailor eating out in the best establishments and generally leading an hedonistic and useless existence whilst making money writing this rubbish. Shame on you, just another useless diet book to be consigned to the recycle bin along with all the others.
Customer Review: Winners on to a Winner!
I thought it a good book, quite funny, and although the food he eats is way above us mere mortals who do not fequent restaraunts or live a jet set life, the principles he uses in the diet are available to us all, in fact he does not really know how he has lose the weight!, the simple reason is that unknowingly he has been on a so called new diet called the calorie shifting diet whereby you trick the body into not knowing what amount calories are coming from day today, or what type of food source either protein,Carbs etc, the body mintains it metabolisum and burns fat,a simular thing happend to stone age man and they did’nt know what was happening either. If you study what he eats its all mixed up Carbs, protein, calories diffent each day, to use this diet with normal food, you simply shop for differnt types of heathy food you love and eat smaller portions,I’ve been doing it for a while and have lost loads but I eat realy well, swap what Michael eats for thing of simular type, but not of course costing as much! Give it a go, at least you will be happy and well fed giving it a go.
